Updatey
What I’ve been working on:

The Replica sweater is doing well and will be the same size as the original after a wash and block, even though it looks all lumpy and skinny in the photo. Trust me! It feels like the home stretch once it’s all on the same needle. The rows can only get shorter from here on out. I do believe I bought too much yarn, so there will be candy cane accessories in our future.
I’ve been dyeing sock yarn and made a new desktop wallpaper:

Plotting:
A knitting FAQ page. I’m often emailed basic knitting questions, so I think it’s time to have a page of knitting tips and info. Is there anything you’d like to see on there? Anything you remember struggling with as a new knitter? Any questions you’d like answered? I’ll do my best! If I don’t know the answer already, I can look it up, as I have a decent knitting library.
Dye almost solid yarns for a 2 color Scandinavian sweater. I’m thinking a simple pattern might be made infinitely more interesting by using yarns that are ever so slightly variegated. Maybe just one variegated and one solid?
Shop Update:
The next shop update will be on Tuesday the 11th at 2pm EST.
Eating:
Coconut Granola
* 4 cups old fashioned oats
* 1 cup flaked coconut
* 1 cup chopped walnuts
* 1/4 cup wheat germ
* 1/4 cup currants
* 1/4 cup raisins
* 1/4 cup butter (recipe called for margarine- maybe that’s a better idea for spoilage?)
* 1/4 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 cup honey
* 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 teaspoons maple syrup
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
In a large bowl combine the oats, walnuts, wheat germ, and coconut. In a saucepan, on medium heat, stir butter, brown sugar, honey, oil, flavorings, and salt together until well mixed. Pour over oat mixture and stir to coat evenly. Pour onto a well-greased baking pan (I used two cookie sheets and Silpats).
Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
Remove from oven and let cool before mixing in fruit and storing in an airtight container. It won’t be hard when you take it out of the oven, but you’ll need to break it up after it cools.
This makes about 8 cups of seriously delicious cereal. You will never want the kind from the store again!
Fun stuff:
Check out Sarah from The Small Object’s Happy Fun Stuff downloads. Her drawings and generosity make me SQUEE!
That’s my life in a nutshell!

ooh I bet he really is excited! I’ve never made my own granola I’ll have to try that sometime. There’s a great bakery in Santa Fe where I used to get their special granola and I miss it.
I love stuff from The Small Object!! I think my favorites were the Happy Animal Totes but they sold out before I could get one

Adrian - I took a look at your FAQ, and I found an error in this sentence:
“Row 2 and all even rows are wrong side rows and are read right to left IF you are knitting flat.” It should say “left to right.”
I would also mention that some charts show only the odd rows (especially lace) and then have the generic row 2 instructions.

It’s true, the yarn and the wallpaper of it are utterly gorgeous.
I’ve been thinking the same thing myself about variegated/plain patterning.
Be sure to let us know how it turns out.
