Handspun Thick and Thin Shawl
Shambles loves it! I only went to fetch the camera and he had inched over to rest his head on it.

The Facts:
4 , 4 oz. skeins of my own handspun thick and thin super bulky yarn
mostly Merino/silk blend, but a little Finn wool, also
size 13 needles
I’ll be making a kit of this shawl, so keep your eyes peeled in the shop if you’d like one.
Mrs. Weasley would be proud.
There’s much progress on the Super Spiral Shawl after 3 (!!!) false starts. Meg Swanson and I might not agree on the best wording for knitting instructions. Or maybe I need to quit drinking and knitting at the same time. :p In any case, it’s probably 2 feet in diameter after just one night of allowing my husband free reign over the television. Sci-Fi Channel all the way for him. The joy.

I absolutely love the way he just barely is touching the shawl. Almost like he is caressing it.

Shambles is SO adorable. The shawl is lovely - I’m so impressed at all you do with your own handspun. Mine tends to stay in a Rubbermaid tub.

Maybe you can answer my question. I’m making a shawl in a thick and thin yarn on a size 17 needle. However, the thick parts of the yarn stick out, but look attractive. Should I have been using smaller needles so that it doesn’t stick out and would seem smoother? Thankyou.
