Project Notes:
*genius free pattern by Sarah Bradberry
*size 10.5 US needle
*about 800 yards/20 oz. of bulky weight 2 ply handspun yarn in 4 colorways
*all Merino wool, if I recall correctly- It’s spun from bits and pieces of my favorite colors left over from yarns I made for the shop, plus 2 colorways I hated until I plied them together.
*measurements- 75″ wide at top edge, 34″ from top edge to point, unblocked
*soft and bouncy and cozy like you read about
*started spinning on 6/28/05
*finished spinning on 7/18/05
*started knitting on 7/27/05
*finished knitting on 8/7/05

There’s one mistake, but if something doesn’t have a mistake, you can assume I didn’t knit it. ;) All in all, this was just a great, fun project. I hemmed and hawed and worried quite a bit about the stripes and what color should go where. It all worked out fine and I am pretty sure, with the way these colors work together, that I couldn’t have screwed it up it I’d tried. I had to do the crocheted top edge twice because I was using a smaller needle than called for in the pattern and had to experiment with the proper number of stitches per hole, but it all worked out well and the edge is nice and straight.

Now, where’s my winter?!!

I’m not big on feather and fan for the most part, but that is beautiful. It looks so cozy. I love how the colors mixed, though I’m not sure I would have had the nerve to mix them. Good stuff!
