We survived Thanksgiving! There was too much drinking. There was too much eating. It took us all day Friday to recover (some of us took some additional time on Saturday), but we’re back.

I’ve been spinning some yarn in a mix of cool tones.
I’ve been dyeing fiber for spin kits:

And I got some adorable yarn in the mail from Japan.

Is it worsted weight? No, it’s regular thick!
I am almost done with The Big Christmas Gift. I can’t wait til after Christmas when I can show it off. It’s taken months and months of knitting and I finally got it together this weekend. I’m knitting everything in the round from now on. Holy crow!
Okay, the camera and I are back in business.
I finished a couple of things. First, little kid-sized thrummed mittens:

These are hand-dyed worsted weight wool with Merino thrums. How’s that for cozy? I am in love with the I-cord string. So much better than the crocheted ones I always got on my mittens when I was little.
Also finished, a sweatband for Jon (who better not read this blog!):

I knit this from Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4 ply (I love this yarn so much) on size 0 needles. For the skulls, I used Stephannie’s Skull Scarf chart, but with less space between the skulls. They’re the cutest (uh,I mean toughest) skulls ever.
Larissa at Stitch Marker cracked me up with her knitting area photo. I’ll share, too. Look what has become of our coffee table. I don’t even bother to pick up after I finish knitting anymore. I suppose that’s because I’m never really finished.
My memory card reader seems to have died, so we’ll have to make do with photos already in my computer today. The horror!
In my search for good stuff to show, I did discover this one of my pal Miss Boo hamming it up in the poncho I made her for her birthday. I think she likes it.

I did upload photos of my new yarn before it died. This has been added to the shop:

about 900 yards of bulky weight Merino
The most fun I had yesterday was finding a little lost dog who was all spunky and cute and came when I called him. I wanted to keep him so badly, but both my husband and dog gave me the stink eye just for contemplating it. So, I called animal control, who sent a very nice man (not the sexy one who looks just like Big Chris from Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) to collect him. I actually kind of miss the dog. I am such a sap!
For people who are interested in my Kiwi, I want to sell everything as a lot (extra bobbins, both high speed and bulky kits, and the skeinwinder) and am thinking $350 for it. It’s $411 worth of stuff. I won’t be able to sell it until my other wheel comes, which could be a month from now. I’ll keep you posted!
