There's errata for the pattern that was included in the first round of kits. It's been corrected for any kit mailed after 2/20/08. On page 2, in the LINING section, it should read:
Begin decreasing for top of mitten.
*K4, K2TOG* around, K3, K2TOG.
Knit 3 rounds plain.
Stranded mittens knit in hand-dyed sturdy mohair/wool blend yarn with a scrumptious hand-dyed 100% Alpaca lining. Bold swirls in 5 contrasting colors blend just a bit with the background color due to the wonderful halo of this yarn. Pattern is knit in the round with attached lining.
To knit these mittens, you will need to know how to increase and decrease, knit in the round, read a chart, and knit in two colors.
This kit contains yarn sufficient to knit any of the 3 adult sizes, plus pattern.
Sufficient yardage is included for all 3 sizes.
Color variations are purposeful and lend depth to the pattern. They are not flaws.
Pattern alone is available in electronic format for those who wish to use a different yarn.

YARN INFO:
Outer Mitten Yarn: 70% Mohair/ 30% Wool, 2 ply
Lining Yarn: 100% Alpaca, 3 ply
Care: hand wash cold/ air dry
Main Color (MC) is largest skein, 5 Contrast Colors (CC 1-5, you assign numbers) are interchangeable and may be arranged as you see fit in pattern. Lay them out in different orders to find an order that pleases you.
SIZE: S (M, L)
TO FIT: 7.5” (8.25”, 9”) palm circumference. If you are between sizes, knit the smaller size.
ACTUAL MEASUREMENT: 8.5” (9.25”, 10”) circumference, and 9.5” (10”, 11”) long
NEEDLES:3 (4, 5) US, or size needed to get gauge.
Pattern may be knit on double points, a long circular for magic loop, or on 2 circulars.
NOTIONS: stitch marker, waste yarn, tapestry needle
GAUGE:
28 (26, 24) sts. and 30 (28, 26) rows = 4” in colorwork pattern. Gauge is critical for proper fit! |
