After some moping when I realized the screws used to put this wheel together require a screwdriver unknown to man (well, maybe just non-Canadians), the new baby is put together and hanging out with my other wheel. Can you see the difference in the size of those bobbins? It's the size of a planetoid and it has it's own weather system! The Louet bobbins hold about 8 oz. of singles. I cannot imagine the size of the skeins that will come off this new wheel. It is one rustic piece of machinery. The orifice is wood, as is the maiden. I didn't know what to expect, but the flyer rotates freely and silently. I am using a piece of cotton crochet yarn with a big old knot in it as the drive band, and it works fine for now. The whole thing is so rad.
I finished a sock last night, bar the heel. I don't have enough yarn for that, so I need to spin some more. I am thinking green.

Once I perfect the pattern, I will share. They are so lovely and soft and squishy and so fast to knit! It's a great rest after working on sweaters all the time.
